Bougainvillea grow best in dry soil, in very bright full sun and with frequent fertilisation; but they require little water once established,the bracts can be seen in all shades of pink and purple, and also red, yellow, white, salmon and orange.The sap of bougainvillea can cause serious skin rashes, similar to Toxicodendron species.
